Today sees a change of venue as the Snow Center wasn’t available, thirty minutes further away is the SnoZone, Milton Keynes. You can read my SnoZone Milton Keynes Review.
Due to traffic we were delayed at getting there for my booked session, but on arrival the reception staff changed my booking so I was still able to make use of the full hour.
I collected my equipment with ease and was ready to hit the slope, parts of which was closed but that was on a different half to the one I would be using.
I headed off to the slope and on to the button lift, where I encountered the “sticky” snow, the snow doesn’t seem to let my skis slide a times, it a bit of an odd feeling, but shuffling along slightly fixes this, I make it to the top. My friend had previously warned me of the snow conditions and that you need to go a little faster. As this was my first run of somewhere new I take my time on my first run, which as advised, I keep stopping due to the snow and my speed. The next run I increase my speed and the run goes much smoother, I even progress at skiing through the flatter middle section without stopping.
Reflection: I am pleased with the outcome I have skied somewhere new with different conditions and layout successfully. I see these session as being good for my overall experience and how to cope with skiing in different conditions.
