After my previous lesson, I made a decision that I had previously just been skiing and not focusing on drills to improve my skiing in case of if you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got. Time to crank things up with my next ski holiday only six months away, I don’t to just enjoy it, it want to get the most out of it. I have now made a Drill & Focus plan moving forward, using the drills from the lesson and a primary Carv metric. I will also be testing how good my ski servicing was on the 24th June 2025.
Carv Stats
Rather than trying to focus on all the Carv metrics, I have made a decision to focus on Parallel Skis only. I need to get this consistently on both turns above 63%. Once this is achieved, I can look to introduce the other metrics. My best areas have been; Turn Shape, Edge Similarity, Early Forward Movement and Mid-Turn Balance up to now.

Reflection
A great session today achieved a best SkiIQ of 92 which I haven’t achieved for a long time, very happy even if it was for just one run., I haven’t achieved managed to improve my left turns and they are starting to match my right turns, my speed also seems to have increased slightly with the shortest video being 40 seconds. The ski servicing also worked well which probably helped with my speed. I just need to keep improving my technique which will come with experience. My next time at The Snow Center will be slightly different as I will be doing a Mogul Coaching session, not sure if I am ready for it, but you don’t know until you try.
