Following on from my visit on the 28th January, I had decided to reduce my lift pass to an hour instead of the normal two, based on how busy the slope became after 45 minutes when the lessons starts to join the slope.
So I need to make the hour count and make the most of the slope while it is still hopefully relatively quiet. The aim is to roll my feet to start the turn and see what happens this involves carrying a bit of extra speed, which is where my nervousness is. I have two potential drills to try Gralands and Hands on Hip. This all depends on how busy the slope is, I need to at least keep my speed up and progress from last week. I am determined to crack parallel hopefully in time for March. A secondary target is to finally achieve a SkiIQ on Carv of 100. If not I am considering taking a private lesson on holiday.

Conclusion & Next Steps
After a chat with my mate he advised me to concentrate on my flow and speed and not so much on drills. I was concentrating on the same focus of last time in facing my body down hill and to not close my turns which I am achieving and worked really well for me today. In the Carv and Short Turns skill areas I have made some improvement.
Carv is recommending I concentrate on Refining my parallel turn skill. Recommended drills are;
- Pateince Turns
- 1000 Steps
- Garlands
The advice I had while skiing from Carv is to be patient in my turns, to make them smoother. The best drill to practice this is the patience turn drill, in my opinion so that should be one of the drills to work on. I think I need to keep my focus on facing my body more down hill and work at edging earlier in the turn, but I am slowly making improvements.
