Loser, Bad Altaussee, Austria

As we had booked an apartment through our holiday club and only one being available. I had done some research and found that nearby were two resorts. The biggest one is Loser in Bad Altaussee, approximately 30 minutes drive from Grundelsee where we were staying.

Runs

Loser has 34 kilometres of runs; 21 kilometres of blue, 12 kilometres of red and a 1 kilometre black run. This appeared ideal with the blue slopes available.

Lifts

Loser has a mixture of lifts this includes; gondola, chair, button and rope.

Lift Passes

A number of options are available which you can find the latest details of online. The best priced on was the Schneebären, as this pass gives you access to nearby resorts as well as multiple days.

Facilities

At the base station there are toilets, a bar and a snow sports shop offering ski hire and lessons.

Slope

I only experienced two runs during our holiday runs 13a and 25. In general the conditions were good at times they were difficult especially for a new skier like me. There was also a like of markings, but then the routes are fairly straightforward.

Conclusion

I think I had chosen a good resort as it was quiet and more for the locals, but the staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back when my skiing improves to make the most of a visit here. If you are ever in the area it is well worth a visit
