28th July 2025

After a pause for the Mogul coaching session, it’s back to perfecting my basic parallel. I am following the same process I used on the 2nd July 2025 and hopefully improve my scores and I have decided to use a two hour lift pass, to increase my slope time. As it’s the UK School Summer Holidays the slope was quiet busy so I managed to get in an hour and fifteen minutes, but it was a good session. I has decided following the mogul coaching to try and introduce pole plants, which I did more to get a feel for them and the work on the timing over time. Another addition this week was to try patience turns drills, which must have worked for me as I managed a SkiIQ of 98.

18th July 2025

Following my last session I have waxed my skis again, applying a little more wax seemed to work better, today’s session sees a change with mogul coaching session. The chance to try something new with this three hour session and see how I can cope or not with them. If nothing else it will be fun.

2nd July 2025

After my previous lesson, I made a decision that I had previously just been skiing and not focusing on drills to improve my skiing in case of if you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got. Time to crank things up with my next ski holiday only six months away, I don’t to just enjoy it, it want to get the most out of it. I have now made a Drill & Focus plan moving forward, using the drills from the lesson and a primary Carv metric. I will also be testing how good my ski servicing was on the 24th June 2025.

20th June 2025 - Ski Technician Course

My mate had been saying to me you need to wax your skis, I had been using an old pair he had donated and had serviced them before giving them to me. I then found a video by Scott at The Skiers Lounge about ski servicing and promoting a ski servicing starter kit for £130. It looked easy enough for me to give it a go. In the meantime I had decided to purchase my own skis a pair of Völkl Peragrine MT again from the skiers lounge, luckily they come serviced and set up for you. I became cautious about servicing them what if I wrecked them that over £400 pound gone to waist. So I decided to check the Ski Technician Course run by Scott and the dates and was in luck, so booked myself onto it.

As my progress seems to have stalled, I took the opportunity to book a one hour private lesson today, as well as using my birthday lift pass which I get as part of my Snow Center membership.

6th June 2025

Today’s session is again focusing on my basic parallel turn, which is still some what elusive, but I am determined to crack it. The slope wasn’t too busy so I managed to get in twelve runs, with an added bonus of being the second person down the fresh groomed slope and I managed to get my favorite side.

13th May 2025

The slope conditions today are a bit chopped up, for some reason my Carv data is not showing today, but I got a few good runs in concentrating on getting parallel. The conditions seem to be challenging me.

9th April 2025

Another quiet day on the slopes, Carv has moved my focus metric to edge similarity, there must be a reason, so I will give it a try.
