28th July 2025

After a pause for the Mogul coaching session, it’s back to perfecting my basic parallel. I am following the same process I used on the 2nd July 2025 and hopefully improve my scores and I have decided to use a two hour lift pass, to increase my slope time. As it’s the UK School Summer Holidays the slope was quiet busy so I managed to get in an hour and fifteen minutes, but it was a good session. I has decided following the mogul coaching to try and introduce pole plants, which I did more to get a feel for them and the work on the timing over time. Another addition this week was to try patience turns drills, which must have worked for me as I managed a SkiIQ of 98.

Drill Plan

2. Try patience turn drill

3. Try pole planting

4. Lifting Back Of Inside Ski On Traverse, looking to move to Stork Turns

Reflection

I now have these extra drills to try to improve my basic parallel, slight backwards step on my Parallel metric, but these patience turns have definitely helped with my turn shape. Hopefully pole planting will help progress, I have never fully understood the reasons for it, but the time has come for me to master it. Was so happy when I got a 98 SkiIQ maybe only for one run, so now need to get this for more runs and also improve my consistency. My ski servicing is also getting more consistent and I can feel the benefits.
