Learning & Skiing Unsupervised
Started June 2024
The first step has to be learning to ski, mastering the basics of the snowplough, how to turn and most importantly how to stop. Additionally passing Level Five at the Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead to allow me to use the main slope unsupervised.
Completed August 2024.
Then gain my confidence and perfecting the skills I had learnt on the way.
Parallel & Pole Plant
Started February 2025
Following my first ski holiday in January 2025, I decided that I need to get myself parallel through the turn and not just in the traverse. This will make future holidays, more fun and less painful on my legs. I also need to introduce the pole plant as the two are linked.
I am also told this is one of the hardest phases to get through that being from snowplough to parallel, but once achieved you can the make quicker progression and when ready can look to trying red runs.

Carving & Short Turns
Once I have perfected my parallel turns, the next step will be to learn short turns to help with trying moguls and to carv. to improve my all round skiing.
